Suggestions for Mall/Arena Display
Set up your sales booth in a busy location - high traffic area. Do not have all the girls in your Unit attempting to sell at once. It is really annoying to be approached by 20 eager little girls trying to sell one box of cookies. It's a good idea to have only 4 girls with adults selling at a time. Do your girls know why they are selling cookies? You will need to be available to explain why we sell cookies, your activities and Guiding to prospective members and/or sign them up right then & there. Don't turn anyone away if they are interested in joining, if they are not in your District or if your Units are full - take name and number and refer this information to the appropriate person. The 1-800 number on the brochure and cookie box is answered locally in most cases - across Canada. We need all the girls and leaders we can get! Remember cookies keep the campfires burning. Also please be aware that we are selling mint cookies at Christmas - just add a bow for an instant gift. Not all customers will be celebrating Christmas - you may suggest cookies be used as a thank you gift for hairdresser, teacher, delivery person or a hostess gift. Just imagine if our customers gave them to the hairdresser think of all the Salons guiding would be promoted in - to Women!
The rest of your Unit can do an activity such as: -
"Tinkling"
Braiding necklaces or tying knots from brightly coloured liquorice
A simple craft
Build towers from marshmallows and toothpicks (clean up after)
Have a campfire and sing (involve the public) - take along your electric campfire
Do a program activity - safety in the mall or other public places
Kim's game such as touch and smell
Have your meeting in the Mall - selling cookies
Any simple activity you can think of to attract attention and sell cookies.
GOOD LUCK, HAPPY SELLING, GREAT RECRUITING
