Ocean Net, the proactive, all-volunteer, non-profit environmental organization was founded and incorporated
in Newfoundland and Labrador in 1997 with a mandate “To Instill an Ocean Conservation Ethic”.
In its six-year history, the organization has worked, through education and action programs and initiatives,
to fulfill this mandate and to be a catalyst for positive attitudinal change. Working with its partners and
network of volunteers throughout the province, Ocean Net has undertaken 443 beach, shoreline and harbor cleanups
since 1997.
Portugal Cove Pathfinders & Guides took part in beach clean-ups and some attended Ocean Net’s annual conference.
Check out this web site www.oceannet.ca for many pictures of cleanups undertaken throughout the province from Port aux Basques to Nain, Labrador!
